 From Alexandria to Corunna to the recent Jeddah light in Saudi Arabia, lighthouses have played their part in literature, fables and social history. In 2013 Almería celebrated 150 years since the first lighthouse protected the eastern corner of the Spanish coast. This window was made to accompany the travelling exhibition which finished in the castle of San Andres in Carboneras, Almeria.

Today, even with the universal availability of satellite navigation  there are people to whom the beam of light is a ray of hope.
